Donations are vital for Sheffield Women's Aid, helping us provide refuge and support to women and children escaping domestic abuse. Public contributions fund safe shelter, counselling, legal advocacy, and resources that empower survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Your generosity makes a tangible difference, offering a lifeline to those in need and enabling Sheffield Women's Aid to continue our crucial work.

How do your donations support women and their families in refuge?

£15 provides a mobile top-up for women once they arrive into the safety of our refuges to let their family know she is safe.

£15 could provide some emergency food and bedding for pets.  SWA is one of the few providers in the country who are able to support survivors bringing their pets with them – pets are family too!

£25 could provide toiletries for women and families to help them feel more settled once they arrive in our refuges for their first night – women and families arriving into our refuges often have very little with them when they arrive in order to leave life-threatening situations.

£30 helps cover the cost of a taxi to arrive at our safe and secure refuges easily.

£60 could provide therapeutic resources and dedicated time to our children and young people affected by domestic abuse by our specialist practitioners.

If you would like to support the work of SWA, we warmly accept and welcome one-off donations to support our work.  As a small charity, we use your donations in a variety of ways which may include:

  • Delivering and providing weekly activities for women and children

  • Providing food for our weekly breakfast club sessions

  • Providing raffle prizes for our weekly Bingo sessions as part of our resident meetings

  • Providing small gifts for women at the end of our therapeutic group sessions to celebrate finishing our bespoke course

If you have a request regarding how we use your donation, please let us know!
