Children in the refuge

Children in the refuge

The refuge is a very safe environment for children to live in and we have special play rooms for younger children and separate spaces for older children – both with a variety of toys, computers and games consoles for their relaxation and to do their homework.

Play specialists provide a wide variety of play sessions for children of all ages and at different times of the day so that all children can enjoy these activities, giving you an opportunity to rest, seek support from your worker(s), go to meetings, etc.

Play specialists can also help you to establish new routines such as bed-time, meal times and getting ready for school as it is likely that their routines will be disrupted when they come to live in the refuge.

We can also help you make to safe contact arrangements, support you in court proceedings and advocate for you in children’s safeguarding meetings if needed.
